On October 23rd, after a 12-year-old girl was raped at the ‘Rah-e Shohada’ girls’ school in Islamabad district in Orumieh (northwestern Iran), the families of students as well as the people who were supporting them staged a protest rally. In the aftermath of the protests, angry and protesting youth burned down the base of anti-popular Bassij base at the Qods Mosque in that district last night.
In fear of spreading this movement, the regime's officials dispatched IRGC forces and anti-riot units from nearby cities to Orumieh and attacked protesters. During the invasion, a large number of young people were arrested.

The Iranian Resistance saluted the protesting and courageous youth of Orumieh, and called all the people to stand up against the aggressions of the regime of the clerical regime against the people of Iran for the past four decades, much worse than any occupation. It also calls on the international human rights organizations to take immediate action for the release of the arrested people of Orumieh.
